Green Flag for the 2008 Le Mans Series last weekend at Barcelona.
Well what did we learn?
We knew.........
that Peugeot was faster than Audi
that the Porsche Spyders would be really quick, the 430 has the legs on
the 997 and that GT1 needs more cars.
that nearly 50 cars on the starting grid makes for a fabulous spectacle, so
get along to a race near you, this show will not disappoint.
We did not know....
that the 908's front end is built like a tank, though the rear still seems
vulnerable to the attentions of the likes of Tomas Enge.
that the promotional and marketing efforts of the series would be ramped
up to a degree that resulted in a big crowd by LMS' standards, particularly
in Spain which has proved resistant to endurance racing in the past. So
well done there.
that the Lola coupes would shine in both LM P1 & LM P2 displaying pace
and reliability so a hat tip to all concerned.
