All good things must come to an end, so the cessation of hand building
Aston Martins at Newport Pagnell had to happen eventually. And so it
came to pass last year with all production now moved to Gaydon.
I was lucky enough to get a chance to drive in one of the last cars off the
line, a Vanquish S no less.
Not only that but I got to take the Supercar to three Tourist Trophy tracks
where its ancestors had competed for the coveted TT titles.
Two of the three, Isle of Man and Dundrod, are still in use to today but only
for the two wheeled brigade, how they do it is beyond my comprehension.
They also share a link to one of the great heroes of motorsport, Joey
Dunlop. He was master of both circuits.
The third, Ards, only exists in the shadows and the history books.
So here we have a weekend at the tracks..........
