| The sun is shining, the Mistral is blowing and the engines cough into life ...... we must be at the High Tech Test Track in the south of France for an early season run. The test days act as a prologue to the European GT year ........ and the main item of interest is the spectacular progress of Stephane Ratel's new baby, the FIA GT3 European Championship. The contenders were on display for performance evaluation in the capable hands of Christophe Bouchut and Jean Marc Gounon. The teams also have a chance to get on with setting up the cars, the drivers and themselves; when the flag drops in Silverstone for the opening round there will be nearly 50 cars in the field, so hard yards put in now should reap dividends. In addition the FIA GT Championship GT1 class was represented by some new blood, Zakspeed, Racing Alliance and B-Racing all keen to impress and get miles under their belts.
