Traditionally the opener for the European sportscar season was a run round the park
at Monza ......... 2007 has revived this custom ......... it was also the first chance to see
the relative performance of the contenders in the run up to Le Mans ............. last
weekend witnessed the return of Peugeot to the endurance arena and they scored a
pretty convincing victory over the privateers ....... whether we actually saw their
ultimate performance is a matter of doubt ........ only when confronted by Audi will the
French push the pedal to the metal ......... Wednesday and Thursday evenings during
Le Mans week are going to be special .............. no quarter asked or given.
For Monza however SCP had David Lister doing it in the park ........... in full bloom
........... savour the moment.
